Learn and Explore Week 1

Week 1 Sea Song and Hunting horn. Our Classes today had an Irish flavour and were inspired by the sea and the number 6 Senior Groups Warm Up  with a nonsense song  Lickety Split  (6/8 rhythm) varying volume and tempo.   Singing  We worked on a traditional Irish song  ,  Ta na baid  Adding Percussion. We used a set of bongo drums and body percussion to add a  rhythmic ostinato  ( short repeated thythm)    far-raig e - damhain. On fiddle We heard the jig Tripping Up the Stairs played live in class, Elements of Music:  Focus today on; Tempo (Slow fast);  Dynamics (Varying Soft / Loud); Pulse; Rhythm Close up on Brass:  Today the focus was on the brass family instruments. We had a trumpet in class and we listened to a track featuring a French Horn.
